Quick Start Guide
Get your LanternOps platform configured and delivering value in 15 minutes.
Step 1: Set Up Your Service Catalog (5 minutes)
Section titled “Step 1: Set Up Your Service Catalog (5 minutes)”Define what services you offer to customers.
- Navigate to Service Catalog → Add Service
- Create your first service:
Example: Complete Asset Management
Name: Complete Asset ManagementCategory: MonitoringPricing: $3 per endpoint/monthDescription: Automated asset discovery and tracking via NinjaOne
Features:- Real-time endpoint inventory- Hardware lifecycle management- Warranty expiration alerts- Compliance evidence collection
Maps to Controls:- CIS 1.1, 1.2, 1.5- NIST ID.AM-1, ID.AM-2- CMMC AC.1.001- Add 3-5 of your core services
- Click Save
Step 2: Connect Your First Integration (5 minutes)
Section titled “Step 2: Connect Your First Integration (5 minutes)”Connect your RMM or PSA tool to start collecting evidence automatically.
- Navigate to Integrations → Add Integration
- Select your platform (e.g., NinjaOne)
- Enter API credentials
- Click Test Connection
- Enable Auto-Sync (every 15 minutes)
Supported Integrations

- NinjaOne - Asset management, patch status
- Huntress - EDR threats, endpoint protection
- Microsoft 365 - User counts, email security
- ConnectWise - Ticketing, time tracking
Step 3: Select Compliance Framework (2 minutes)
Section titled “Step 3: Select Compliance Framework (2 minutes)”Choose which compliance standards matter to your customers.

Navigate to Compliance → Frameworks

Enable frameworks:
- ✅ CIS Controls v8.1 (general cybersecurity)
- ✅ NIST CSF 2.0 (enterprise risk)
- ✅ HIPAA (if you serve healthcare)
- ✅ SOC 2 (if you serve SaaS)

Click Activate Selected Frameworks
The system will automatically:
- Map your services to framework controls
- Start collecting evidence from integrations
- Enable compliance dashboards
Step 4: Generate Your First Value Report (3 minutes)
Section titled “Step 4: Generate Your First Value Report (3 minutes)”Show a customer what they’re paying for.
- Navigate to Customers → Select customer
- Click Business Impact Dashboard
- Review the automatically generated metrics:
You’ll see:
- ✅ Compliance controls satisfied (e.g., “32 of 149 CIS controls”)
- ✅ Services delivering value
- ✅ Evidence collected (e.g., “147 endpoints tracked”)
- ✅ Revenue opportunities identified
- Click Share with Customer to send them their dashboard link

Section titled “Common First Questions”Q: Do I need to manually map controls to services? No! Our AI/RAG system automatically maps services to controls based on semantic understanding.
Q: How long until I see revenue opportunities? Immediately. As soon as integrations sync, the system analyzes and identifies gaps.
Q: Can customers see their own dashboards? Yes! Each customer gets a portal showing their compliance status and value delivered.
Q: What if I don’t use all 6 frameworks? That’s fine! Enable only the frameworks relevant to your customers.
